That’s fascinating! I’ve always been a night owl, and have a very screwed up circadian rhythm. If I think back to my flares, the first one was in my early 20s and I was teaching high school at a private school and was getting absolutely no sleep. My other big one was after my daughter was born so again my sleep cycle was way off.

I’ve been reading a fair amount of research lately about sleep: What is it, how does it work, why do we do it, etc. It’s remarkable what an impact quality and length of sleep can have on us, and so it doesn’t really seem that surprising that *when* the sleep occurs is just as important.

I found this research very interesting and find that when my sleep is disrupted my whole system seems to be affected.
